Abuja (FCT) › Giri
Giri is in Gwagwalada Area Council, in the FCT, on the road towards Gwagwalada town. Giri Junction, on the stretch of road leading into Gwagwalada, is the landmark most directions and road reports use, and many addresses near it are described simply as Giri.
The FCT Administration plans the Giri district as an institutional area. It opened access roads there in 2025 and has named the University of Abuja and an academy planned by the EFCC among the institutions in the district; the city's proposed main sewage treatment plant is also sited there. That makes approved land use the first thing to check: a plot near Giri Junction may be set aside for an institution or public works rather than housing.
Giri can suit people who work or study in Gwagwalada or at the institutions around the district. Before renting, test the journey to work, check the access road and drainage, and confirm water supply and power backup. Before buying, verify the allocation and survey plan with the FCT land registry, and check that the plot is not part of land being reallocated.
