Payments Through Cabans Only
Payment Protection is only valid for short let bookings paid in full through the Cabans platform. Payments made directly to hosts or landlords outside of Cabans are not covered under any circumstances.
Cabans Payment Protection is designed to give guests peace of mind when booking short let properties through our platform. We hold your payment securely and only release it to the host after a successful check-in, ensuring you are protected against cancellations, access issues, and significant misrepresentations — provided your booking and payment were made entirely on Cabans.
If your short let property is not available on arrival due to a landlord or host cancellation, we will refund your full payment and work to find you an alternative where possible.
If you are unable to access the property on the agreed check-in date and the issue is attributable to the host or listing error, you are covered for a full refund of any amounts paid through Cabans.
If the short let property you booked is materially different from what was described or shown in the listing (e.g. different location, missing key amenities), you may be eligible for a full or partial refund.
The following situations are explicitly excluded from Cabans Payment Protection:
Payment Protection only applies to bookings and payments completed entirely through the Cabans platform. Any payment made directly to a landlord, host, or third party — via bank transfer, cash, or any other method outside Cabans — is not covered.
Cancellations initiated by the guest due to a change of plans, personal circumstances, or travel disruptions are not covered under Payment Protection. Please review the host's cancellation policy before booking.
Even where a booking is made through Cabans, your claim may be disqualified if any of the following apply:
Any agreement made between a guest and a host outside of Cabans — including side deals, direct payments, or communications that bypass the platform — will immediately disqualify the booking from Payment Protection coverage.
Claims must be raised within 24 hours of the scheduled check-in time. Failure to report an issue promptly may disqualify your claim.
All payments are encrypted and held securely until your check-in is confirmed.
Eligible claims for short let bookings are refunded promptly — no hassle, no delays.
