Abuja (FCT) › Idu
Idu is in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), west of Abuja city centre, in the same postal district as Karmo. It is best known for the Idu Industrial Area, also called the Idu Industrial District or Idu Industrial Layout, which was planned for factories and warehouses, and for Idu station, the Abuja end of the Abuja-Kaduna railway.
Because so much of Idu is industrial, the first check for any plot or building is its approved use. A site that suits a warehouse may not be approved for housing, and the reverse. Business groups have raised road access and power supply as problems in the industrial area, and a new electricity project for the zone began in 2026, so ask about both for the specific site.
Idu can suit businesses that need industrial space, and people whose work or travel centres on the rail station or the western side of the city. Homes in the surrounding communities differ widely: view the property, test the access road and confirm water, power and security arrangements before you commit.

Idu Industrial Area (Idu Industrial District)
The Idu Industrial Area is one of the FCT's main industrial zones, laid out in numbered industrial layouts. Factories, warehouses and an industrial park project sit within it. Before leasing or buying, confirm the layout, plot and approved use on the documents, and check the access road, drainage and power supply at the site itself.
Idu station
Idu station is the Abuja terminus of the Abuja-Kaduna railway. If you plan to travel by train, check the current timetable and the road journey from the property to the station at the times you travel.
