Agege Area Guide

Lagos › Agege

Agege is a densely populated Lagos Mainland LGA known for its affordable housing, busy markets, and significant working-class community. It borders Ifako-Ijaiye and Alimosho to the west and is bisected by the Agege Motor Road. Two-bedroom flats typically rent for ₦200,000–₦600,000 per year — among the most affordable in Lagos State.

Power supply from PHCN is poor in most of Agege; generator backup is used in most residential buildings. Flooding affects some lower streets during the rainy season. Agege Market is one of the biggest food and provisions markets in Lagos.

The BRT route from Agege to Lagos Island is a key commute corridor, taking 45–75 minutes at peak.

Best for very budget-conscious renters, market traders, and working-class families who need Lagos Mainland living at the lowest possible cost. Popular searches: flats for rent Agege Lagos, affordable flats Lagos Mainland, Agege area guide.

Abule Egba

Abule Egba is a large suburban area straddling the Agege/Ifako-Ijaiye border in western Lagos Mainland, known for its very busy market and role as a transit point between Lagos and Ogun State. Two-bedroom flats rent from ₦180,000–₦500,000 per year, making it one of the most affordable residential areas in Lagos State. Power from PHCN is poor — generator backup is the norm.
