Leaving and your caution deposit
How to approve payment to your host
The short answer
Was your stay fine? Press "Approve payment" and we pay your host now. If you do nothing, we pay them 7 days after your stay.
Step by step
Step 1: Open your stay after you check out.
The card shows once your host has confirmed your check-out. We also email you. The subject is "Thanks for staying at [home name]".
Step 2: Find the card "Approve payment".
It says "Everything OK? This tells us to pay your host now. If you do nothing, we pay them 7 days after your stay."

Step 3: Press "Approve payment".
A box opens. It asks "Approve payment?"
Step 4: Read the box.
Only approve if everything was as expected. You cannot undo it.

Step 5: Press "Approve payment" again.
Not sure? Press "Back" instead. You do not have to approve.
Step 6: Look for the thank-you line.
The card now says "You approved the payment to" your host, with the date. Then "Thank you."
Do it now
Why approve?
Your host gets paid sooner. It is a kind way to say thank you.
It costs you nothing. You have already paid for your stay.
What if I do nothing?
That is fine. We pay your host 7 days (one week) after your stay.
Does it change my caution deposit?
No. The box says "Your caution deposit is not affected: it is settled separately."
A caution deposit is money you pay in case something gets damaged. Your host checks the home and gives it back.
When not to approve
- Something went wrong on your stay. Press "Message [host name]" on your stay page first, or contact us.
- You left early and asked your host to refund the nights you did not use. Wait for their answer first.
