How to check out

Step by step

   Step 1: Open your stay on your last day.

   Step 2: Find the card "Leaving".

   It shows your check-out time, like "Check out by Thu 8 Oct 2026, 11:00". That means by 11 in the morning.

   Step 3: Follow your host’s "Before you leave" list.

   It is in "Your stay guide". Your host wrote it for you.

4. 4

   Step 4: Press "I am leaving".

   A box opens and asks "Check out now?" Your host will be told you are leaving.

5. 5

   Step 5: Press "Yes, I am leaving".

   Not ready yet? Press "Not yet" instead.

   

6. 6

   Step 6: Wait for your host to confirm your check-out.

   Your stay then says "Stay complete".

   

Your door code after you press "I am leaving"

It stays on your page until your host confirms your check-out.

It goes 2 hours after check-out time at the latest.

What if nobody confirms?

Your stay finishes by itself 2 days after your check-out date.

Good to know

• When your host confirms, we email you. The subject is "Thanks for staying at [home name]".
• Your host can also finish the stay, even if you did not press "I am leaving".

Leaving before your check-out date?

You can leave early. Press "I am leaving" as usual.

The nights you do not use are not paid back. Your host can choose to pay them back.

Want to ask? Press "Message [host name]" on your stay page. If your host agrees, we email you. The subject is "A refund for your unused nights at [home name]".

• Did you pay a caution deposit? That is money you pay in case something gets damaged. Your host checks the home, then gives it back.
