How to send your ID when a host asks

The short answer

Some homes ask for your ID. Add a clear photo of it. Only your host and our team can see it.

Step 1: Open your stay in My Stays.
Step 2: Find the card "Your ID".
It only shows if this home asks guests for an ID.
Step 3: Press "Upload your ID".
Step 4: Pick a clear photo or a PDF of your ID.
Use your passport, driving licence or national ID card. Make sure every word is easy to read.
Step 5: Check that it shows on the card.
Need to add one more? Press "Send another".

Only your host and the Cabans team.

From the moment your booking is confirmed. You can send it until you check out.

You can remove it before you check out, if you want to.

The card says "We keep your ID for up to 6 years after your stay, as data laws require, and then delete it."

The law says we must keep it that long. Then it is deleted by itself.

Your host can see it for a short time only. The card says "Your host can open it only until 30 days after check-out."

Did your booking end before your stay? Then your ID is deleted after about a week.

Do I have to send my ID?

Only if the home asks for it. Then you see the card "Your ID" on your stay page.

Which ID can I use?

Your passport, your driving licence or your national ID card.

Is my ID safe?

Only your host and our team can see it. We keep it for up to 6 years after your stay, as the law asks. Then we delete it.

Can I take my ID off again?

Yes. You can remove it from the card before you check out.
