How a monthly shortlet is priced
There is no separate monthly price. You pay for each night, and the host's offers bring the total down.
- Night prices.Each night has a price. Some hosts price by the week instead: a week's price is shared over its 7 nights.
- Longer-stay discount.A host can set up to 3 discounts by number of nights, shown like "7+ nights, 10% off". The biggest one you reach counts for every night.
- Free nights.A host can offer, for example, "Stay 5 nights, get 1 free". For 30 nights that is 30 ÷ 6 = 5 free nights. The cheapest nights are the free ones.
- The better of the two. If a host offers both, you get the one that saves you more, never both.
- Fees.A cleaning fee and a caution deposit are added once to the whole stay, and are never discounted. You pay through Paystack, in naira, and Paystack's fee for handling the payment is added on top. You see it all before you pay.

How long can you stay in a shortlet?
- Longest stay: 90 nights (about 3 months) as standard. A host can set it anywhere from 1 to 731 nights. If it is less than 90, the listing shows "Longest stay" under the calendar.
- Minimum stay: some hosts want a few nights at least. The listing shows "Minimum stay" when it is more than 1 night.
- How far ahead: homes take bookings up to a year ahead as standard, unless the host has chosen a different time.
- Staying on: once you are checked in, you can ask to extend. The host must agree and the dates must be free.
Living in a shortlet for a month
A month is long enough for small things to matter. Your stay page helps with the day-to-day:
- "Cleaner" asks the host to clean. "Room service" asks for fresh towels, bed linen or supplies.
- "Report an issue" tells the host something is broken, missing or not working.
- "My bill" shows anything the host adds, such as extras you used. Pay it from the stay page.
- "Message your host" opens a chat for anything else.
Ask these before you book a month
Press "Contact Agent" on the listing page and ask:
- How many hours of power a day, and does it cover the air conditioning?
- What internet is there, and is it fast enough to work from home?
- Is water steady, and is there hot water?
- How often is the home cleaned, and is that in the price?
- Is there a washing machine, or a laundry service?
- Where can I park, and can visitors come?

- Often unfurnished. You buy what you need.

- Good if you are staying a year or longer.

Frequently asked questions
Can I rent a shortlet for a month in Lagos?
Yes. You book a month the same way as a weekend: choose your check-in and check-out days, press "Reserve" and pay online. Homes allow up to 90 nights as standard, unless the host has set a different longest stay.
How much is a shortlet per month in Lagos?
Each host sets their own price, so there is no single figure. A month is priced night by night, less any longer-stay discount or free nights. Choose the dates on a few homes and compare the totals in the price breakdown.
Do I get a discount for a monthly stay?
Only if the host offers one. Look for a longer-stay discount such as "7+ nights, 10% off" or a free nights offer such as "Stay 5 nights, get 1 free". You get whichever saves you more, never both.
Is cleaning included in a monthly shortlet?
Ask the host before you book. During your stay you can ask for a clean with the "Cleaner" request on your stay page. If the host charges for extras, they appear on your bill and you pay them from your stay page.
Can I stay longer than I booked?
Yes, if the host agrees and the dates are free. Once you are checked in, ask to extend your stay. You pay for the extra nights online.
What if I leave before the month ends?
The nights you do not use are not refunded, unless the host agrees to refund them. Before you arrive, you can cancel for free until the deadline, or ask to change your dates.
