Private pool or shared pool?
"With pool" can mean two things. Find out which one you are getting before you pay.
A private pool
Only your group uses it. You can swim when you like, within the house rules. This is what most people picture for a birthday or a quiet weekend.
A shared pool
The pool belongs to the building or the estate. Other residents and guests use it too. It may have opening hours, rules and days when it is closed for cleaning.
Questions to ask the host first
House rules appear on your stay page only after your booking is confirmed. So ask before you reserve: press "Contact Agent" on the listing page and send these questions.
- Is the pool only for my group, or shared with other flats or the whole estate?
- Will it be open and working on my dates?
- What hours can we use it?
- Can visitors who are not staying the night use it?
- Is there a fence, a gate or a pool cover? (Important if you bring children.)
- Are there pool rules, such as no glass bottles or no music after a set time?
Where to look for a shortlet with a pool
When people in Lagos search for a shortlet with a pool, they often name Lekki, Ikeja and Victoria Island. Start with these pages, then check each home.
Shortlets in Lekki →
Many homes sit in gated estates and apartment blocks. Ask whether the pool belongs to the building or the estate.
Shortlets in Ikeja →
Handy for the airport and the Mainland. A good base if you want a pool without crossing to the Island.
Shortlets in Victoria Island →
Close to restaurants and offices. Many homes here are flats in larger buildings, so ask whether the pool is shared.
Shortlets in Ikoyi →
Quieter streets next to Victoria Island. Worth a look if you want calm around the pool.
Pool rules, guests and the caution deposit
- The guest limit is real. Count everyone staying the night, children included. The booking box will not let you pick more than the host allows.
- The caution deposit is paid with the booking and comes back after you leave. If something is damaged, the host can ask to keep some of it. Our team reads both sides and decides.
- Children and water. Ask about fences, gates and covers before you book, and never leave children alone near the pool.
- Something wrong? During your stay, use "Report an issue" on your stay page, and add a photo if you can.
Book online, and cancel free before the deadline
- Pick your check-in and check-out days on the home's calendar.
- Press "Reserve". Your dates are held for 30 minutes, and nothing is charged yet.
- Pay securely online through Paystack, in naira. Paystack's fee for handling the payment is added on top, and you see it before you pay.
- Your stay is confirmed at once ("Instant booking") or once the host accepts ("Host confirms"). If the host says no, you get a full refund.
Every home you can book on Cabans lets you cancel for free up to a deadline. The booking box shows it before you pay. See shortlets with free cancellation for the full rules.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find a shortlet with a pool in Lagos?
Open the homes in the list above, or the Lekki, Ikeja and Victoria Island pages. Check each home's photos and details for a pool. If you are not sure, press "Contact Agent" on the listing page and ask the host before you reserve.
Is the pool private?
It depends on the home. Some pools are only for the guests in that home. Others are shared by a whole building or estate, with their own opening hours and rules. Ask the host before you book.
Can our visitors use the pool?
Only if the host allows it. The number of guests you book is everyone staying the night, and the booking box will not let you go over the host's limit. House rules appear on your stay page after the booking is confirmed, so ask about visitors first.
Does a shortlet with a pool cost more?
It can. Every host sets their own night price, and busy dates can cost more. Choose your dates on a few homes and compare the totals in the price breakdown before you pay.
What if the pool is not working when I arrive?
Tell your host straight away. On your stay page, use "Report an issue" or "Message your host". Take a photo, so there is a record.
Can I cancel a shortlet with a pool?
Yes, for free until the deadline the booking box shows before you pay. You then get a 100% refund of the booking. Paystack’s payment fee is not refunded. It reaches you within 14 days at most, and usually in about 5 days.
