Short lessons for hosts. Read them in order. Each lesson ends with three quick questions.
The lessons
- Lesson 1: How a Cabans booking works, start to finishA guest picks dates and pays. You say yes, or instant book says yes for you. You welcome them, they leave, you settle the deposit, and we pay you.About 5 minutes
- Lesson 2: Make your first listing bookableMake your listing a "Short Let" with a price, times and a caution deposit. Our team checks these first. Keep "Take bookings online" ticked, and guests can book.About 6 minutes
- Lesson 3: Price your nightsYour listing price is the normal price for a night. Add a price window for busy dates, or a day price for one special day. The day price wins, then the window.About 5 minutes
- Lesson 4: Offers that fill longer staysGive guests a discount for long stays, or free nights, or both offers. A guest never gets both. They get whichever saves them more.About 5 minutes
- Lesson 5: Your calendar and booking rulesAll days are open to start with. Close the days you cannot host, and set your rules. Guests see nothing new until you save and publish the calendar.About 6 minutes
- Lesson 6: Your cancellation promiseGuests can cancel for free until a time you choose. If you choose nothing, it is 48 hours (2 days) before check-in. Cancel in time, and they get back what the stay cost.About 5 minutes
- Lesson 7: Answer requests fast, or use instant bookA request comes only after the guest has paid. Accept or decline it before your time runs out. Or turn on instant book, and paid bookings are confirmed for you.About 5 minutes
- Lesson 8: Get ready for arrivalWrite your house rules, arrival steps and check-out list once. Guests see them when the booking is confirmed. They see the door code and Wi-Fi password only after you check them in.About 5 minutes
- Lesson 9: Welcome day: arrival, keys and check-inYour guest presses "I have arrived", and we email you. Hand over the keys if you like. Then press "Approve check-in", and the door code and Wi-Fi open for them.About 5 minutes
- Lesson 10: During the stay: requests, extras and billsGuests ask for things, like fresh towels: press "Start", then "Mark as done". Sell extras, like bottled water. If a guest used extras, send them a bill.About 6 minutes
- Lesson 11: Check-out and the caution depositCheck the home and press "Confirm check-out". Then release the whole caution deposit, or raise a dispute if something was damaged. Our team decides a dispute.About 6 minutes
- Lesson 12: Run it as a team and earn moreGive each helper only the permissions they need. Then keep five good habits. Nobody can promise you more bookings, but these habits stop you losing guests.About 6 minutes
